Giovani Italiani Australia presents

MELBOURNE GIA FORUM 2011

Giovani Italiani Australia (GIA) is the national network of Italian young people in Australia and organises regular national Forums. These Forums bring together our community for a weekend of social networking opportunities, fun and discussions about the future of the Italian community.

Workshops that will be presented at the Forum include examining rules concerning Italian citizenship, the future of Italian language in Australia, connecting with our cultural roots with Mangia ! Mangia! , launching our much-anticipated website, the Punto Informativo, and engaging in a fun Scopa Competition.

The 2011 Forum will take place in Melbourne from
the 25th to the 27th of November 2011

In the morning of Sunday, 27 November 2011 from 10 - 11am at the Museo Italiano, we will be hosting at Mercato della Domenica. We anticipate that approximately 80 young people will attend the Forum and that the Mercato della Domenica will be a good opportunity for local group and organisations to set up a trestle table with flyers and information on their organisation to provide to participants.
Visit us at www.gia.org.au/forum to check out the complete program and description of activities.

Please contact Federica Cologni at federica.cologni@hotmail.it if you want to be included in the Mercato della Domenica on 27 November or just for further information.

OPERA DINNER MEDIA RELEASE

(English Version)

OPERA DINNER
MEDIA RELEASE
ICCI Qld promotes OPERA DINNER to celebrate the Italian culture of fine food and music

The Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Australia hosted on the 12nd September an elegant and successful dinner in the delightful atmosphere of the Italian Restaurant Viale Canova, which was recently awarded with the prizes “Best Italian Restaurant – Formal: Viale Canova, Clayfield” and “Ospitalità Italiana 2011”.

The OPERA DINNER was attended by many members of the Italian and Queenslander entrepreneurial activity who enjoyed the warm and homely atmosphere of the elegant restaurant Viale Canova. Lorenzo Spezzamonte and Massimo Bertolazzo delighted all the guests with their excellent courses, just as the taleggio cheese and radicchio risotto served in a parmesan shell and their superior pork roast. These delicious courses were accompanied by fine wines provided by one of the most important supporters of ICCI Qld, Italiquore Brands Iternationale in the person of Mr. Filippo D’Arrò.

One of the most important moments of the night was the live Opera performance by the soprano D’Arne Shleeman who sang both classical arias such as “Un bel dì vedremo” / “One beautiful day” from Puccini’s Madame Butterfly and modern songs just as “The girl in the 14G” by Kristin Chenoweth. This choice was significantly enjoyed by participants because it conjugated the classic with modern music, but also the Italian and the English language. Therefore, once again ICCI Qld mastered to mediate between the Italian culture and the Australian one.
The Secretary General Federica Odorisio was satisfied for the success of the evening which combined excellent food and music with an intimate atmosphere, symbol of the Italian culture and hospitality. A significant characteristic that was considerably appreciated by all the guests who expressed their enjoyment of the evening.

ICCI Qld and its staff are proud of the great success of this and the past events and wish to continue to encourage this kind of initiatives that promote Italian culture in its various features.

OPERA DINNER
COMUNICATO STAMPA
