Media release: Lord Mayor's Corporate Business Luncheon

Brisbane, 1st February 2011
Lord Mayor of Brisbane, The Right Honourable Cr Campbell Newman, will be the special guest at the first corporate lunch for 2011, hosted by the Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Qld).
The President of the Chamber, Comm. Hon. Santo Santoro, today said that the Lord Mayor will, in his speech, refer to the flood situation in Brisbane and detail the clean up and reconstruction efforts currently underway in the city.
In particular, he will be outlining how business in Queensland can further assist in the reconstruction and rehabilitation of flood affected areas of Brisbane, whilst acknowledging their already generous contribution in the immediate aftermath of the floods.
A major auction will be undertaken at the lunch, the proceeds of which will be donated to the Premier’s Flood Appeal.
The Chamber’s February lunch follows hot on the heels of two other very successful corporate events organized by the Chamber, following the election of Mr Santoro to the Presidency of the Chamber, including the Inaugural Lunch with the Ambassador of Italy in October and the Corporate Christmas Lunch in December which featured a bipartisan line up of successful Australian-Italian political representatives, including The Hon Teresa Gambaro MP, Grace Grace MP and Ross Vasta MP.
Mr Santoro said that the Chamber will continue to provide good networking opportunities for Queensland businesses, as well as interesting and informative guest speakers at various functions.
All are welcome to attend the Lord Mayor’s Corporate Lunch on Wednesday 16th February 2011 at Rydges Southbank and can RSVP by contacting the Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Qld) on(07) 3392 2499 or by contacting Santo Santoro on (07) 3262 4266      .
